National Convention

Every year RYS hosts a summer convention (Monday through Friday) to celebrate our unity in Christ as reformed Christians. Typically, these special national events consist of two main speakers exploring a theme, along with several related workshops.

Convention will set to go to Wheaton College in 2025!

Lord willing, Reformed Youth Services is planning on holding its 2025 National Youth Convention July 21-25 at Wheaton College University in Wheaton, Illinois! This year’s theme is “Praise the Lord,” based on Psalm 150:6. This year, our day away will be Six flags and a possible second option not yet determined. Informational brochures will be published and mailed by mid-January and online registration will open at the same time. Check our facebook page, Instagram, and website for more information.

Convention Rules

Conventioneers will be cooperative, contribute to the well-being of all, participate in convention activities and abide by all rules determined by the convention committee.

No entering the dorm rooms of persons of the opposite sex. Boys and girls
may not occupy the same dorm room at any time.
No possession or use of alcohol or drugs on campus or off campus.
No smoking at any time (including sponsors). It is illegal under United States law for persons under the age of 18 to smoke. This includes all tobacco products. Vaping is not allowed.
Weapons, knives and explosive devices are not permitted.
Conventioneers will adhere to the dress code at all times, including
tournaments and day away.
Conventioneers will respect college property and may be held responsible
for property damages incurred.
Attendance at all convention functions is mandatory.
8. No electronic equipment, including cell phones (until Friday morning for students), computers, iPods, video games, etc.

Rules Violation Consequences

If any egregious infraction takes place, such student will be sent home the following morning at their parents’ expense and may not be able to attend next year’s event. Students who are outside after our designated
curfew and are resistant to committee and sponsor direction to return to
their dorm will be considered in violation of their promise to “abide by all rules determined by the RYS Board.” The students’ convention experience will be concluded immediately. The student becomes the full responsibility of the sponsor.

RYS CONVENTION DRESS CODE
FOR STUDENTS AND SPONSORS

The RYS Board and convention planning committee is recommending a policy per I Timothy 2:9, “to dress modestly, with decency and propriety.” It is our responsibility to
provide a proper atmosphere for biblical learning and fellowship. We would respectfully
ask you to honor the policies stated below during the entire convention, including the
day away, sports tournaments, and the talent show. Ultimately, dress code is at the discretion of the
Board and convention committee.

SHIRTS

Should be modest and loose-fitting, covering all personal areas (including midriffs and cleavage), not showing undergarments
Sleeves are required (no tank tops, sleeveless shirts, cold shoulders or cut-outs)
Should not contain writing or images of an inappropriate nature

SHORTS, JEANS & SKIRTS

All shorts will require a 5 inch inseam or longer.
No writing on the seat, no obvious holes.
Modest and loose-fitting, not showing undergarments
Sports events: dress code still applies
