LOGOS 2019 Winter Retreat

Seek Peace, Holiness and the Lord
Speaker: Ottavio Palombaro

Based on Hebrews 12:14, this year’s winter event will explore the theme of “Seek Peace, Holiness and the Lord.”
Lord willing, Dr. Ottavio Palombaro, a Puritan Reformed Theological Seminary student and Italian native, will lead our
discussion on this topic. The retreat is scheduled to take place January 3-5, 2019 at the Cedar Lake Retreat Center in Cedar
Lake, Indiana. Single young adults ages 18-30 attending college or working are highly encouraged to register (more specific
information below).

Ottavio Palombaro was born in Castiglion del Lago, on the shores of Lake Trasimeno near Perugia, in a very strong
Roman Catholic family right in the heart of Italy. He is the fourth child of five, from a Roman father and Belgian mother.
After he became convinced of the Reformed faith, Ottavio applied to three American Reformed seminaries. The
night before his Ph.D. graduation in Milan, Italy, Ottavio received an acceptance letter and full scholarship from Puritan
Reformed Theological Seminary in Grand Rapids.

Last summer (2018) Ottavio went to Perugia to do his seminary internship
with Rev. Andrea Ferrari in his hometown of Perugia with the Reformed group
that God in His providence had drawn together. His plan after his seminary studies
is to graduate (January 2020), complete his candidacy exam to become a pastor with
the URC, raise support and go back to Italy (D.V.).

“I want to serve the Lord as a full-time missionary for the advancement of
His kingdom in my homeland. There is nothing else in this world I could see myself
doing apart from ministry and devoting my entire life to Him and His church,” says
Ottavio. Reformed Youth Services is pleased to give our young adults the opportunity
to hear Ottavio’s passion for the Lord and His Word as he explores a theme that
has a close correlation to his own life story.
