LOGOS 2017 Conference
“Living with Purpose”
Can you detect the common thread between Disney movies and devil worship? Can you discern between a Biblical spirituality and the new spirituality sweeping through society today? Can you perceive not only where our culture is but also where it is headed? Working from Romans 1 Rev. Ed Marcusse, pastor of Immanuel’s Reformed Church of Salem, OR, will explain how only believers in Jesus Christ can understand these things alright and then live with a purpose in this world. Seeing the world of difference between believers and unbelievers will help you make a world of difference as you live your life for the glory of God. Rev. Marcusse has been a frequent RYS speaker at high school retreats, conventions, and LOGOS. Rev. Chip Byrd, Rev. Jeremy Veldman and Rev. Brian Vos will also lead workshops on the topics described on the opposite side. Every attendee will have the opportunity to hear three main sessions, three workshops and be part of a small group led by one of our young men. In addition, Pastor Ed’s wife, Denise, will lead the women in a special breakout session. As always, our speakers will teach from a distinctly reformed perspective while focusing on our 18-30 year-old age group. We trust that you will be blessed by praising the Lord in our main sessions and learning from the Word together with fellow reformed believers from across the United States and Canada.
If you are traveling from the East or West, we will be happy to provide travel assistance from the Lansing, Michigan airport (only). But you MUST contact RYS Director Ed DeGraaf regarding air travel arrangements prior to booking so we can assist you with your ground transportation. Lodging will be in the Merillat Lodge which will feature hotel-style rooms and linens. All meals except the day away dinner are included in your registration fee. Social nurturing is also an important aspect of this annual conference. We would heartily encourage all post-high singles ages 18-30 to consider spending some quality fellowship time with like-minded young adults from across the country. We are also pleased to offer Henry Ford Museum as our primary day away activity. This exciting museum features iconic items such as Lincoln’s chair from Ford’s Theatre, Rosa Parks’ bus, President Kennedy’s limousine, steam engine locomotives, automobiles from the past 100 years, and much more! The second day away option will be to enjoy the afternoon on the beautiful Michindoh campus. There will be many free activities for you to select from paddleboats, row boats, canoes, a big Blob, sand volleyball, a great 300-foot water slide and scenic walks. Travel and parking is your own responsibility. Late fee is $30.00 if you register after July 10. If you have any questions, contact RYS Director Ed DeGraaf at (616) 667-0694 or firstname.lastname@example.org. We hope to see you at Michindoh!
