LOGOS 2020 Winter Retreat
During the days of the prophet Jeremiah, the Lord graciously called out to a generation which had turned away from the truth and word of God: “Stand by the roads, and look, and ask for the ancient paths, where the good way is; and walk in it, and find rest for your souls (Jer. 6:16).” This was not only a call to repentance, it was a call to remember the peace, the joy, and the rest that comes from having a relationship with the one true God. At this year’s LOGOS Winter Retreat, we will consider what it means to look again to the good and ancient paths and how even in the midst of a modern world which vies for your attention and worship, we can find rest for our souls in the truth of God’s Word.
Lord willing, the LOGOS winter retreat, intended for singles age 18-30 either in college or working, and now also for married couples age 30 or younger, will be held January 2-4, 2020 at the Kettunen Retreat Center in Tustin, MI. Rev. Austin Reed, a pastor at Trinity URC in Caledonia, MI, will speak on the topic “Following the Good Path,” based on Jeremiah 6:16.
Cost is $230.00 (U.S.) per person for the program, housing and five delicious meals (excepting Friday night). The retreat begins Thursday evening with dinner and concludes with Saturday lunch. Registration deadline will be December 14, with late registration ($270.00) open until December 21.
We would highly encourage young married couples (note: infants/children are not allowed) to experience LOGOS for the very first time or to return again with your spouse.
Preferred housing (hotel-style rooms) will be reserved for our first paid registrants. The other rooms are also comfortable and contain private bathrooms. You will appreciate the relaxing retreat atmosphere of Kettunen! Recreational options include sledding (weather-permitting, bring your own sleds), bowling ($10.00 cash for two games, shoes and a soda), skiing at the Caberfae Peaks Ski Resort ($18 lift/rental) or sight-seeing and shopping in nearby Traverse City.
