Winter LOGOS Retreat

by | Nov 20, 2023

I Called. God Answered

Jan 4-6, Cedar Lake, IN

What if prayer felt as addictive as checking your phone or as natural as hanging out with friends, yet more powerful than a lifetime career in the White House? That is possible because prayer is a conversation with God.

Do you know what to do when random thoughts or drowsiness sabotage your conversations? Are your prayer meetings paralyzed by awkward gaps of silence? This retreat intends to provide more than technical solutions. Through hands-on learning we hope to equip you with communication skills for improving your relationship with God. By the end of the retreat we hope prayer will feel more like delight than duty, and more like a relationship than a ritual. We are begging God that you will return home eager for spiritual conversations with Him – conversations that are compelling,

personal, and powerful.
Lord willing, the LOGOS winter retreat, intended for singles and

married couples ages 18-30, will be held January 4-6, 2024 at Cedar Lake Ministries in Cedar Lake, IN. We look forward to Rev. Ken Anema as our speaker who is a professor at Divine Hope Seminary and the associate pastor at Immanuel URC in DeMotte, IN.

The cost is $260.00 (U.S.) per person for the program, hous- ing and five delicious meals (except for Friday night’s dinner). Cost is $480.00 for married couples. The retreat begins Thursday evening with dinner and concludes with Saturday lunch. The regular registra- tion deadline will be midnight December 18, with late registration ($310.00) for singles and ($580) for married couples being open until December 24.

Cedar Lake Ministries is located 35 miles south of Chicago and features a scenic setting, great facilities and excel- lent food served in a dining room with a lakeside view. Recreational options include sledding (weather-permitting), bowl- ing ($15.00 cash for two games, shoes and a soda), or sight-seeing in nearby Chicago.

All attendees will reside in the comfortable Rest-A-While Lodge, which includes linens and rooms with private baths. Check-in is between 2:00-5:30 p.m. central time on Thursday, January 4, followed by dinner at 6 p.m. and our first session. The winter retreat concludes with lunch at 11:30 a.m. Saturday.
